Photographers and Exhibitions 2025

AUSTRALIA & THE NEW WORLD Since its inception, our festival has been committed to repeatedly placing the nature that gives us life at the center of the exhibitions. Photographic narratives between beauty, humanistic reflection, anger and despair.

Australia: The Australian photographers are ambassadors for the beauty of a unique continent that needs to be preserved: Matthew Abbot, Narelle Autio, Tamara Dean, Adam Ferguson, Bobbi Lockyer, Trent Parke, Anne Zahalka, Viviane Dalles and Agence France-Presse.

In the New World, we encounter the works of Mitch Dobrowner, Louise Johns, Joel Meyerowitz and George Steinmetz in the United States. We juxtapose the work of the latter two photographers with exhibitions of the Austrians Alfred Seiland and Dieter Bornemann. Alessandro Cinque presents a long-term project from the Andean countries. We travel with Ulla Lohmann to Papua New Guinea and with Gaël Turine to Benin.

Alice Pallot, Sophie Zenon and Bernard Plossu take us to Brittany with their artistic perspectives.

Brent Stirton will make the almost invisible visible and shed light on the suffering of the approximately 80,000 ME/CFS sufferers in Austria. Hans-Jürgen Burkard has undertaken a musical and photographic journey through Germany for his work An Tagen wie diesen. The underwater photographs by Herbert Frei are dedicated to the Global Water Summit 2025.

In addition, there is our artist in residence Reiner Riedler, the photographs of the professional photographers of Lower Austria, the photography project of the Morbihan schools in Brittany and in Lower Austria, the exhibition “Our World is Beautiful”, which honors the winners of the CEWE photo competition – as well as the special exhibitions Code of the Universe and 100 Years of Federal Forests.

Under the guiding theme Culture of Solidarity, the collaboration with the festival partners Garten Tulln and Monat der Fotografie Bratislava will continue in 2025.
