THE SCHOOL PROJECT OF THE FESTIVAL LA GACILLY-BADEN PHOTO 2025

In a constantly changing world, where differences can sometimes lead to divisions, sport has the power to bring people together, to inspire and to create unbreakable bonds. The Olympic movement, which is all about ‘faster, higher, stronger’, promotes universal values such as excellence, respect, solidarity and peace. These values form the basis of the Olympic spirit and have the potential to create a better world.

We want to challenge students to capture these values through the lens of their camera. 

The aim is to show how sport breaks down language barriers, cultural differences and nationalities, but also how sport promotes inclusion, mutual understanding and social cohesion. This project is a partnership between the Lower Austrian state government, the Foto Festival Baden association and the Lower Austrian State Guild of Professional Photographers. Every year, they bring together public schools from all over Lower Austria to develop an educational project using photographic means of expression. They are accompanied by professional Lower Austrian photographers. These works can be seen alongside those of schools in Morbihan in Brittany, France.
