The entire province of Lower Austria was declared a disaster area on Sunday morning. Emergency services have been working tirelessly throughout the province since Saturday under the most difficult conditions to protect the population.
“Extreme caution” is required, warned Stephan Pernkopf, Deputy Governor of Lower Austria, on 16 September, and it is important to avoid unnecessary journeys and routes in order not to endanger yourself and the emergency services. “The next few hours and days will continue to challenge us intensively.”
The team of the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival is thinking of the many victims that this storm has claimed throughout Austria, but also in other European countries.
Fortunately, Baden has not been badly affected by the floods, but the storm has caused serious damage to the entire festival site. All parks in Baden are currently closed. The festival cannot be visited until further notice!
Once the state of emergency has been lifted, we will do everything we can to restore as many exhibitions as possible, but unfortunately it can be assumed that not all exhibitions can be shown until the end of the festival on October 13, 2024. We will keep you up to date here.
