Photo DIVING COURSE FOR Students AT THE Strandbad WITH ‘FRESHWATER POPE’ HERBERT FREI

Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo

H2O! Wasser at it’s best. Yesterday was the first of three days on which the festival welcomed students from the Biondekgasse and Frauengasse secondary schools in Baden – a big thank you to the two directors, Sonja Happenhofer and Birgitta Stieglitz-Hofer – to explore the wonderful world of water with them.

Guided by one of the world’s best divers, freshwater expert Herbert Frei, and equipped with the best underwater housings provided by Seacam mastermind and founder Harald Hordosch, the students dived and took photographs in the sun-drenched swimming pools of the Baden lido.

Thank you to Strandbad Baden, Sascha Steffel and Harald Gölles for your support! And above all, thank you to the aspiring divers who participated with such enthusiasm. Everyone received a certificate of recognition for their efforts.

Also present was a film crew from photo-now, Nicole Schmidt and Heimo Aga, who are currently working on a feature-length documentary on the subject of 200 years of photography. The film attached is the work of Jonathan Unger, one of the participating students. Thank you to everyone! It was a wonderful summer’s day at the ‘beach’.
