CEWE and the Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo have been working together for four years. This partnership is fuelled by a shared passion for contemporary photography. The impressive quality of the winning photos of the CEWE Photo Award has persuaded the Festival team to once again curate a „Director’s Cut“ – a selection of the best pictures of the Award 2021 – and to show it in Baden from 9 June to 16 October.
It is therefore also a great pleasure for the Festival to support the call for submissions for the CEWE Photo Awards 2023. Under the motto „Our world is beautiful“ CEWE is calling on amateur and professional photographers to show their talent. In addition to the search for the most creative photographs in the world, the award also fulfils a good purpose. CEWE donates 10 cents to the SOS-Kinderdörfer worldwide for each photo submitted.
Christian Friege, Chairman of the Board of Management of CEWE, is pleased that the CEWE Photo Award became the largest photo competition in the world last year with 606,289 photos submitted: „But what was even more important to us: thanks to the large number of photos, we were able to present a donation cheque amounting to 60,628.90 euros to SOS-Kinderdorf at the award ceremony.“
Entries can now be submitted again in ten different categories until 31 May 2023: Landscapes, People, Nature, Architecture and Technology, Sports, Cooking and Food, Hobby and Leisure, Animals, Travel and Culture and Aerial Photography.
An international jury will select the best photos. Prizes worth a total of more than 250,000 euros await 1,000 winners.
