Tuk Time

© Roxane Gabet

Teo Becher lives and works between Nancy, his native city, and Brussels, where he studied photography. Tuk Time is, first and foremost, a story about time frozen by the periods of great cold in the north, when life slows down. There’s not much to do in the Artic tundra in winter! In Tuktoyaktuk, a small town on the shore of the Beaufort Sea in the Canadian North-West Territories, unemployment and the traditions of an older generation contrast with the new westernised consumer behaviour of the young, who find themselves confronted with the economic and ecological challenges of the region.

Festival director Lois Lammerhuber talks about Teo Becher’s exhibition
