We live in an age of disruption! This extraordinary, brutal year, marked by an unprecedented global health crisis, has sown the seeds of radical change in the way we understand the modern world and in our consumer habits. Our economy will now be subject to new constraints, and new hopes too. Taking care of our planet, looking for new clean sources of energy, buying locally produced goods, placing our trust in collective action, moving forwards together, and better understanding the benefits that the digital and technological revolution brings in a world that is emerging from lockdown to establish a new future: change is imperative if we want to bring joy back into our lives.

Many economic stakeholders and representatives of civil society refuse to give up and continue to defy obstacles one after the other to anticipate our future needs: innovation is both their watchword and their source of inspiration. In this world of entrepreneurs, the Morbihan department has its fair share of precious gems and ingenious inventors. Women and men who share a taste for excellence, a sense of innovation, traditional know-how, a desire to preserve the living world and the boldness to conquer new markets.

Based in Brest and a graduate of the ENSAD art school in Paris, Florence Joubert is a photographer who likes to explore working environments in her images. She covers a range of professional fields, including architecture, heritage, science and extreme environments. She is equally at ease with the art of portraiture as she is with landscapes. Her distinctive use of light and colour creates a soft intimacy with the subjects she captures. In recent months, she has criss-crossed the roads of the Morbihan region to meet these innovators concerned about a sustainable society. These pioneers include a nursery with an educational project focused on the natural world, a former medical representative now working to support local production, an agri-food company promoting quality and direct sales, and a designer inspired by seaweed. All testify to the excellence on offer in Morbihan and all are perfect ambassadors of a territory that is looking to the world of tomorrow.
