Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2019 invited Lydia Steinbacher and William Albert Allard as Artists in Residence and gave them total freedom to interpret the exhibitions in whatever artistic form they wanted. 

They used this freedom imaginatively and created a poetically visual, very personal memorial to the Festival.

In the aesthetic magic of his pictorial narratives William Albert Allard describes the transformation of gardens, lanes and squares in the city of Baden into an all-embracing work of art. 

Lydia Steinbacher’s poems reflect and interpret the themes of the exhibitions in a fanciful literary form.

Any couple who’d like to find out what their kiss looks like under a microscope can have it photographed in the KISS BOX.
