MATJAZ KRIVIC: LITHIUM ROAD
Mankind has lived through three industrial revolutions, triggered by coal, oil and nuclear power. The fourth one will be triggered by lithium. This alkali metal, in third place in the periodic table of elements, is the main pillar of revolution in electro-mobility. Even today, lithium is mined massively and reaches prices of up to 9 000 dollars a ton. It is practically indispensable for the production of batteries used in electronic gadgets like smartphones and tablets.
