SO BRITISH!

THE OFFICIAL OPENING EVENING OF THE Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2026 will take place on 12 June 2026 at 6.30 pm at the Stadttheater Baden.

Your hosts are the Mayor of Baden Carmen Jeitler-Cincelli and the Festival Association with Lois Lammerhuber, Silvia Lammerhuber and Beate Jorda. 

The keynote speeches will be delivered by legendary photographer Sir Don McCullin, Richard Ladkani – a documentary filmmaker from Baden who has been shortlisted for an Oscar on several occasions – UNESCO Chair in Water Helmut Habersack, and, via video link, guitar legend and stereo photography collector Sir Brian May.

The festival will welcome the exhibiting photographers as guests of honour, along with the British Ambassador, Lindsay Samantha Skoll, the French Ambassador, Matthieu Peyraud, and Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

A visual concert featuring the most famous songs by the Beatles and Queen

Following the opening speeches, the evening will be dedicated musically to the festival’s theme, SO BRITISH! Large-scale projections of photographs by the festival’s artists will accompany a medley of the most famous songs by the Beatles and Queen, arranged by composer Pavel Singer and performed by the Baden Theatre Orchestra under the baton of Michael Zehetner.

Admission is free. However, booking is essential!

✶ By telephone on 02252 22522 and/or directly at the Bühne Baden ticket kiosk.  
✶ Shortly before the event, reserved tickets can be collected directly from the ticket kiosk (10.00–13.00 and 14.00–18.00) or from the box office on the night (half an hour before the event starts at the Stadttheater). 
✶ Tickets will not be sent by post ✶ A maximum of 2 tickets may be ordered per person ✶ Tickets are available while stocks last.
