n a mining town in the north of England, it is not only the future of the colliery that is at stake, but also that of the traditional brass band. Whilst unemployment and a lack of prospects loom large, music keeps the community together. Amidst protest, pride and quiet hope, the musicians fight to preserve not only their sound but also their dignity.
