The first photos in Doblhoffpark

Four photos by Australian photo artist Vee Speers from the „Metamorphoses“ series mark the premiere of our 2024 festival. They were installed yesterday on the large-format walls to the left and right of the Orangery. The reason for this very early „coming out“ is the upcoming swearing-in of 200 recruits of the Austrian Bundesheer on Friday, April 5, 2024 with a grand swearing-in ceremony, square concert and performance show.

In the presence of Federal Minister Klaudia Tanner, Mayor Stefan Szirucsek and the Commandant of the Aviation and Air Defence Troops School, Brigadier Reinhard Kraft, the young trainees from the Aviation and Air Defence Troops School, the Vienna Military Command and the Army Troops School will enter basic military service with their „I vow“.

During the subsequent ceremonial „Große Zapfenstreich“, pieces of music such as the Austrian national anthem and the traditional march „O du mein Österreich“ provide a particularly solemn point in the programme.

The swearing-in ceremony begins at 19:00.

Commenting on the photographs exhibited by Vee Speers in Baden this year, the artist says: „To inspire the public through art, from the most subtle to the most daring, we must create surprise and evoke emotions that endure, change people’s view of life and make them curious about our world“.
