THE IMAGE SANS FRONTIERE COLLECTIVE

An Ode to the Planet

Our planet is the stage for a mesmerising, thrilling spectacle, a world that is sometimes alien and often fragile, home to incredible, untamed landscapes. The world’s highest dunes can be found in the Gobi Desert in China, encircled by lakes. 150 kilometres away from Beijing, the Great Wall of China balances on its rocky spurs, offering up magical sunset views, veiled by plumes of evening mist. Here in France, the ochre landscape of Rustrel, Provence’s very own Colorado, shimmers in reds and oranges, a semi-natural site abandoned by humankind, left to the erosive powers of time.

In Africa, South America, Iran, Europe, the North and South Poles and Asia, Earth is resplendent in its many different viewing points, a patchwork of eyries that allow wandering photographers to capture unique moments cast in the most ethereal of light, bringing home a little slice of all the magic and incredible diversity our planet contains.

These stunning, timeless photographs are brought to you by the Image sans Frontière collective, an international association of photographers and a La Gacilly festival partner from the very beginning. Explore the diversity of its peoples and the dazzling grandeur of its landscapes through 20 selected photos from a collective that goes beyond borders to unite photography lovers around the world. Twenty artists from six countries: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Vietnam.
