Jennifer Hayes

Jennifer Hayes is a contributing photographer, author and speaker for National Geographic Partners. She is a scientist turned storyteller submerging more than 11,000 hours beneath the surface from interior Africa, local ponds to the Pacific to both polar regions. 

Jennifer’s academic passions lead to graduate degrees in marine ecology and zoology studying shark fisheries for her masters degree and sturgeons for doctoral research. Jennifer has translated her love of science into storytelling, working with scientists around the globe to share the their stories. Jennifer is an award winning photographer, author and contributor to numerous publications and books on marine environments. She is a trustee of the Shark Research Institute, Explorer Club National Fellow and Principal Photographer for Elysium Artists for Antarctic, Arctic Expeditions and Coral Triangle Expeditions. Her work has been featured on NPR, CNN, ABC Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight, National Geographic TV, Wild and Disney Channel.

Jennifer lives in Clayton, NY with her husband and National Geographic photographer David Doubilet along with their five rescue cats and their dog Arthur. The pair co-own UnderSea Images Inc with the focus on connecting people to the miracle of our planet.
