THIS WAS THE FESTIVAL 2022 "DUE NORTH"

© Michel Bouvet

This exhibition describes the exhibitions of last year’s festival in photographic scenes by French photographer Pascal Maitre and in literary sketches by Katharina Viktoria Haderer.

Pascal Maitre has travelled the world with all his journalistic passion, but has especially made Africa, probably the most exciting continent on our planet, his agenda for the last 30 years. His alert and unerring eye has found ravishingly beautiful images for the world’s major reportage magazines – such as GEO, Paris Match, L’Express, Stern and National Geographic – where political and social upheavals have shaken world politics. Maitres‘ subtle use of perspective, light, contrast and colour makes each of his pictures a touching testimony of time, full of magic and fascination and full of respect for the people of Africa. Pascal Maitre is one of the most outstanding photographers of our time.

Katharina Viktoria Haderer has been writing fantasy novels since her early youth. After studying German in Vienna, she self-published her debut Das Herz im Glas in 2014. Publications by Drachenmond Verlag followed; since 2019, the Black Alchemy series has been published by Droemer-Knaur. In 2021, she published the booklet novel Oase der Mutanten as part of the science fiction series ‚Perry Rhodan WEGA‘. Haderer lives in Bad Vöslau in Lower Austria, where she is also active as a scout leader in addition to her work as an author, illustrator and graphic designer. In 2021 she was awarded the Thomas Jorda Prize.
