IN YOUR DREAMS

© Michel Bouvet

“In Your Dreams“ is a joint project between schools in Morbihan – the French department in the region of Brittany, where the village of La Gacilly is located – and schools in Lower Austria. 16 public schools each nominated a group of 14-year-old pupils to work on the respective theme of the year.

„In Your Dreams“ the festival invites the young people to tell us about their dreams for the future through the prism of photography. „In Your Dreams“ there is plenty of room to imagine a dreamlike future. That future that young people imagine, realistic or fantastic, individual or collective. Hopefully it will be a positive and exciting future, a source of new ways of living together and new perspectives by and for young people.

Complementing this, the first Photo Academy of the festival took place on 30 September and 1 October 2021 in cooperation with the BG and BRG Baden Frauengasse. Under the artistic guidance of Hubert Hochwarter, students from the sixth to eighth grades were able to live out their enthusiasm for photography. Supervised by Christian Chladek, Leica provided a number of their best cameras. The photographic supervision was taken over by Christian Schörg, the master of the regional guild, in whose studio the photos were processed and printed. Finished on Hahnemühle special photo paper, the best photos show what the young talents are capable of. In the spirit of the festival, the aim is to promote the importance of photography in the city of Baden.
