The Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2018 invited Evelyn Schlag and Gerd Ludwig as Artists in Residence and gave them total freedom to interpret the exhibitions in whatever artistic form they wanted. They used this freedom imaginatively and created a poetically visual, very personal memorial to the Festival. In the aesthetic magic of his pictorial narratives Gerd Ludwig describes the transformation of gardens, lanes and squares in the city of Baden into an all-embracing work of art. Evelyn Schlag’s poems reflect and interpret the themes of the exhibitions in a fanciful literary form.
