School Photo Festival Lower Austria

Commitment

From its inception, commitment has been the theme and the basis of the festival and has shaped our values. It also echoes the photographic work that Eric Garrault realized for the Photographic Commission of the Morbihan: The Morbihan sentries.

Young people witness the world and the social environment around them, such as family, friends, neighbours and school. Apart from their observations or personal notes, they can decide to act and to commit themselves. Or not to. What do teenagers commit to? What do they react to? And how to they react? What collective and individual benefit does this commitment of young people bring for the future of the planet and of mankind?

The photographs from the 13 Lower Austrian schools were shown in La Gacilly in Brittany in 2019. Now they have come home.
